Had this computer for 5 years.
Window 7 professional.
I can just open computer, on top right in the search computer box, type in any word, and it will search for all files in every internal and external hard drive showing in the computer folder under whatever word I've entered, regardless if they are videos, audio, photos, images, text, word documents, system files, blah blah blah, you get the idea.
Well tonight I was on the net and saw a movie that I knew I had (according to my .Xcel file directory listing my collection) but wasn't sure if I had in 1080p so I did a search for it and can't find it.
But if I manually go to computer/drive #, movie folder, name of the movie I can find it.
So I tried something else like Adriana Chechik or Jenna Haze, which I know I have 100 of files in several of the external drives connected to my computer and it only found 4 of them.
I did try start/index/indexing options/advanced/add each drive to what should windows search - search under and index each drive which takes forever, each drive having 1000 and 1000 of files being indexed.
Did all that, every connected external hard drive, results showing 10 of 1000 of files are indexed and added to the search parameters, AND STILL IT'S NOT FINDING every file on every drive.
So I had to go download a program named EVERYTHING which works fine - just open it and type in whatever name of file I want to find and within seconds it finds it on every drive.
Not sure why Windows Search decided to stop working - first time in the years I had this computer, it FAILED to find what I want it to find.
