What to look for in a new Computer?

I am shopping for a new home computer, here are the stats of the one I have now:

HP slimline s3600f PC
2 GB system memory
Intel pentium Dual core desktop processor E2180
250gb system memory

Bottom line is this computer is way too slow and just sucks in general for what I need it for.


So what do I need to be looking at in those areas to make sure the next system is much better?
