Note: Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (which is the fourth Thursday of November) that marks the start of the holiday shopping season. Retailers slash prices, shoppers line up for hours, and rush into the stores to buy lots of stuff. "Cyber Monday" is where online retailers do the same thing the Monday after.
I went to Black Friday...first time in a few years that I actually went out to the stores. I bought some Blu-rays, a mouse, a video game, and a hard drive at three different stores.
Waited 45 minutes to get into Best Buy (it opened at midnight) and an hour and a half in line to buy the stuff. I reserved the HDD at Fry's online, but still had to wait 40 minutes in line to pick it up and another hour in the "big line" to pay for it. Wal-Mart was the best, surprisingly: short line, only 10 minutes, and I was out of there.
Everything was pretty orderly, it was very crowded but well managed, and I didn't see any fights break out, though I'm glad to be sitting down after spending so long standing up waiting in line.
